| Abstract: | Los misioneros del siglo XVI escribieron obras para ayudar a la evangelización en América. En ellas podemos encontrar algunas tendencias del pensamiento de la época. La obra Advertencias para los confesores de los naturales (1600), del franciscano Juan Bautista de Viseo, fue escrita cuando ya se había consumado el Concilio de Trento y sin embargo persiste en ciertas posturas reformadoras contrarias a él. Se mostrará que en Nueva España, estas tendencias tienen su origen en el pensamiento de Duns Scoto. |
| Description: | The missionaries of the XVI Century wrote to contribute to the evangelization of Latin America. The tendencies of the ideas of the time can be found in their texts. The Franciscan Juan Bautista de Viseo’s book Advertencias para los confesores de los naturales (1600) was written after the Council of Trent was over. However, he sustains some revolutionary views opposed to those of the Council. This paper attempts to demonstrate that these tendencies in New Spain came from Duns Scoto’s thought. |
