dc.descriptionThis study set out to characterize the communicative treatment of the official organ of the Communist Party of Cuba, Granma, to the social unrest of 2011 in Egypt and Libya. Based on the content analysis of 104 papers, including articles by politician Fidel Castro Ruz, the treatment of the Egyptian and Libyan movements was compared. According to the newspaper, the fight against the circles of power in both countries did not enjoy the same authenticity: the cause of the Egyptian people against a right-wing government (an ally of the United States and Israel) was just; in Libya, the protest movement was subverted. The issue was deliberately worked from a hierarchy of the news, with a strong emphasis on the conflict, the violent nature of the confrontations, and the resulting political rearrangements.es_ES
dc.description.abstractEste estudio se propuso caracterizar el tratamiento comunicativo del órgano oficial del Partido Comunista de Cuba, Granma, a las revueltas sociales de 2011 en Egipto y Libia. A partir del análisis de contenido de 104 trabajos, dentro de los que se incluyeron los artículos del político cubano Fidel Castro Ruz, se comparó el tratamiento a los movimientos egipcio y libio. Según el diario mencionado, la lucha contra los círculos de poder en uno y otro país no gozó de igual autenticidad: si bien la causa del pueblo egipcio contra un gobierno de derecha, aliado de los Estados Unidos e Israel fue justa; en Libia, el movimiento contestatario estuvo subvertido. El tema se trabajó intencionadamente desde una jerarquización de la noticia, con fuerte énfasis en el conflicto, el carácter violento de los enfrentamientos y los reacomodos políticos resultantes.es_ES
