| Abstract: | El texto es un análisis de cuatro cuentos de Laura Méndez de Cuenca, escritora de la segunda mitad del siglo XIX y principios del XX (1853-1928), quien tuvo una actuación singular en el campo de la literatura e historia de la educación. En los cuentos "La venta del chivo prieto", "Heroína de miedo", "La tanda" y "La gobernadora", la autora navega a contracorriente o en oposición a los esquemas hegemónicos del "deber ser" de las mujeres en la época; así, por medio de la pluma, la escritora muestra un rompimiento con los estereotipos y roles de género, socialmente asignados a las mujeres, contemplando otras directrices para sus congéneres en el orden social, a tono con los aires de emancipación femenina que se estaban llevando a cabo en el país. |
| Description: | The text is an analysis of four short stories by Laura Méndez de Cuenca, a writer from the second half of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th (1853-1928), who had a singular performance in the field of literature and history of education.
