| dc.description | In recent years, English has become the most widespread language of communication on the planet. Eighty percent of global interactions take place in this language, which has 1.75 billion speakers, representing almost a quarter of the world's population. However, most people who use English as a means of communication are not native speakers, a fact that demonstrates the rise of English as a lingua franca. This presentation addresses the results of a research project that aimed to investigate the historical relevance of English language teaching and learning in Mexico and to analyze the prominent role this language has played in recent years within the context of the global village. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | En los últimos años, el inglés se ha convertido en el idioma de comunicación más extendido en el planeta, el 80% de las interacciones a nivel global se llevan a cabo en este lenguaje, el cual, tiene 1.75 mil millones de hablantes, cifra que representa casi un cuarto de la población mundial. Sin embargo, la mayoría de las personas que utilizan el inglés como medio de comunicación no son hablantes nativos, hecho que demuestra el auge del inglés como lengua franca. En esta presentación se abordan los resultados de un proyecto de investigación que tuvo por objetivo indagar en la relevancia histórica de la enseñanza-aprendizaje del inglés en México y analizar el protagonismo que este idioma ha tenido en los últimos años en el contexto de la aldea global. | en_US |
