Description: | The discussion about environmental education content is one of the most controversial topics in this field. This article emphasizes an area of knowledge generally absent from the discussion about environmental education content and practices: history. Using history as a methodological resource makes it possible to look more deeply into the causes and results of the environmental problem, inexorably linked to the development of human societies and their internal contradictions. It also makes it possible to put the content of environmental education program content in its appropiate context in the framework of better defined pedagogical-political proposals, since otherwise one runs the risk of the content -justified in and of itself- being fundamentalist or part of a frequently incompatible eclecticism. |
